Day 1 — Arrive Yerevan · Republic Square & First Night
Arrive at Zvartnots International Airport where your Gulliver Holidays representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Yerevan. After settling in, take an evening stroll to Republic Square — the vibrant pulse of the city, famous for its musical fountains, pink tuff stone government buildings, and lively café terraces. The square comes alive after sunset; enjoy dinner at a traditional Armenian restaurant.
Day 2 — Garni Temple & Geghard Monastery
After breakfast, drive to Garni Temple — Armenia's only surviving Hellenistic-era pagan temple, built in the 1st century AD on a dramatic basalt cliff overlooking the Azat River gorge. The views are extraordinary. Continue to the Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site literally carved into the mountainside — one of Armenia's most spiritually powerful and architecturally remarkable sites. Watch traditional lavash flatbread being baked in tonir clay ovens, and pick up local handicrafts.
Day 3 — Lake Sevan & Dilijan "Little Switzerland"
Drive north to Lake Sevan — the "Pearl of Armenia" and one of the world's largest high-altitude freshwater lakes, sitting at 1,900 metres above sea level. Visit the medieval Sevanavank Monastery on its famous peninsula for panoramic lake views. Feast on freshly grilled ishkhan trout from the lake. Continue to Dilijan, a charming spa town in forested mountains often called "Little Switzerland" — walk the old town street and browse artisan workshops.
Day 4 — Tatev Monastery & Wings of Tatev Cable Car
The most dramatic day of the trip. Drive south through spectacular Syunik Province to the Wings of Tatev — the world's longest reversible cable car at 5.75 km, soaring over the Vorotan River gorge. At the top, explore the magnificent Tatev Monastery, founded in the 9th century and one of Armenia's most iconic medieval sites. Surrounded by sheer canyon walls and mountain panoramas, this is a place that genuinely stops you in your tracks. Lunch at a countryside restaurant with organic local ingredients.
Day 5 — Noravank Canyon & Areni Wine Tasting
Visit Noravank Canyon — one of Armenia's most spectacular natural and architectural combinations. Bright red-orange cliff walls rise dramatically around the 13th-century Noravank Monastery, with its famous external staircase leading to an upper chapel carved directly into the rock face. Continue to Areni, a village that has produced wine for over 6,000 years — the Areni-1 cave complex is considered one of the world's oldest known wineries. Enjoy a traditional wine tasting at a local family winery.
Day 6 — Yerevan Free Day — Cascade, Vernissage & City Life
A day to explore Yerevan at your own pace — the city richly rewards slow exploration. Walk up the Cascade Complex for sweeping views of the city and, on clear days, the snow-capped cone of Mount Ararat in Turkey (Armenia's national symbol, visible from the capital). Browse the Vernissage Open-Air Market for hand-knotted carpets, silver jewellery, pottery, and cognac. Stroll Northern Avenue for café culture and shopping, or join an optional Armenian cooking class to learn dolma or lavash-making.
Day 7 — Departure from Zvartnots Airport
After a final breakfast at your hotel, your Gulliver Holidays driver will transfer you to Zvartnots International Airport for your return flight to Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Leave Armenia with unforgettable memories — its ancient monasteries, dramatic landscapes, world-class wine, and the warm hospitality of its people will stay with you long after you land home.

Essential Armenia Travel Tips for UAE Residents
Smart practical advice to make your Armenia trip smoother, richer and more rewarding from Day 1.
Currency: Armenian Dram (AMD)
Exchange USD or AED at Yerevan money changers (excellent rates on Northern Avenue). Cards accepted in hotels and restaurants — always carry some cash for smaller shops, markets and rural areas.
Stay Connected with a Local SIM
Buy a Vivacell-MTS or Beeline SIM card at the airport or any phone shop in Yerevan. Good 4G coverage in Yerevan and towns. Wi-Fi is free at most hotels and cafes.
Respect Religious Sites
Armenia is a Christian country — cover shoulders and knees when visiting monasteries and churches. Many will offer headscarf wraps at the entrance. Photography is usually permitted outside.
Try Local Armenian Food
Don't limit yourself to hotel restaurants. Yerevan has an exceptional local dining scene. Ask your Gulliver Holidays guide for recommendations — the best spots are not always the most visible.
Pack Layers for Mountain Sites
Even in summer, mountain areas like Tatev and Geghard can be cool and windy. Bring a light jacket and comfortable walking shoes for monastery tours — terrain can be uneven.
Book Well in Advance for Peak Season
Armenia has become very popular with UAE travelers in 2025–2026. For June–August and September departures, contact Gulliver Holidays at least 4–6 weeks ahead to secure seats and hotel availability.
