Norway Classic — 7-Day Itinerary

Here's how your 6-night Norway trip flows. Flights, 4★ hotels, a 2-night Arctic coastal cruise, shared-coach transfers and Northern Lights hunting are included throughout.

DAY1

Arrival in Tromsø Included

Land in Tromsø, where a transfer takes you to your hotel. Check in from 3:00pm and begin exploring the "Paris of the North" — a self-guided walk or short taxi ride covers the city's highlights. Overnight in Tromsø.

Optional: join the 7:00pm Tromsø Aurora Dinner Cruise — sail the fjord over a local dinner while watching for the Northern Lights.
DAY2

Leisure in Tromsø Included

Spend the day at your own pace — browse shops, museums and cozy cafés, or ride the Fjellheisen gondola for panoramic Arctic views. Overnight in Tromsø.

  • Reindeer Sledding (optional): meet the Sami people, hear their stories and feed their reindeer.
  • Snowmobiling Safari (optional): ride through Arctic mountains and valleys, pickup from Tromsø city centre.
DAY3

Dog Sledding & Embarkation on the Arctic Cruise Included

Check out after breakfast and leave your luggage with the concierge. Travel 50 minutes to Camp Breivikeidet for a husky sledding adventure through Arctic scenery, then warm up with hot drinks and cake. In the afternoon, board your Arctic coastal cruise — boarding from 3:00pm, departure 6:15pm. Overnight aboard, sailing north.

DAY4

Cruising to North Cape Included

Your ship calls at several ports including Hammerfest, Havøysund, Honningsvåg, Kjøllefjord and Mehamn, revealing rugged cliffs, fishing villages and vast Arctic landscapes.

Optional North Cape Excursion: disembark at Honningsvåg to visit the North Cape Plateau — one of Europe's northernmost points — its globe monument and North Cape Hall.
DAY5

Arrival in Kirkenes & King Crab Adventure Included

The cruise continues via Båtsfjord, Vardø and Vadsø before reaching Kirkenes around 9:00am. A shared transfer brings you to your hotel in this Arctic border town. Overnight in Kirkenes.

Optional Original King Crab Safari: ride a snowmobile across the frozen fjord to catch giant king crabs, then taste them freshly prepared in a warm cabin.
DAY6

Departure via Oslo

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Oslo, connecting onward to your international flight home — carrying with you memories of the Northern Lights, Arctic wildlife and the warm hospitality of the north.

Best Time to Visit Norway

Norway rewards visitors year-round in very different ways. June to September is ideal for fjord cruising, hiking and the midnight sun, while December to March is prime season for the Northern Lights, dog sledding and Arctic winter adventures.

SeasonMonthsWeatherWhy go
WinterDec – MarCold −5 to 5°C, snow throughout the northBest for Northern Lights, dog sledding & Arctic cruising
SpringApr – MayMild 2–12°C, melting snowQuieter fjords and lower prices before peak season
SummerJun – AugMild 15–22°C, midnight sun in the northBest for fjord cruises, hiking & sightseeing
AutumnSep – NovCool 4–12°C, first snows up northAurora season begins, fewer crowds, dramatic light

Dec–Mar Best for Auroras

Peak Northern Lights season across Tromsø, the Arctic cruise route and Kirkenes, paired with dog sledding, reindeer sledding and snow-hotel visits.

Jun–Aug Midnight sun

Long daylight hours make this the classic season for fjord cruises around Geirangerfjord, hiking in the Lofoten Islands and exploring Bergen and Oslo.

Sep–Nov Local favourite

Many travellers rate early autumn as an underrated window — the aurora season begins, prices ease and the fjords take on golden, dramatic colours.

Entry made easy

Schengen Visa for UAE Residents

Although Norway is not part of the European Union, it is a full member of the Schengen Area, and most nationalities living in the UAE need a Schengen visa before flying. UAE nationals generally enjoy visa-free access for short stays, while other UAE residents typically apply in advance — we guide you through the exact steps for your passport.

🛂 Schengen visa — apply before you fly

Most UAE residents need to apply for a Schengen visa in advance through the Norwegian consulate or visa centre. UAE nationals typically enjoy visa-free entry for short tourist stays.

✈️ Flight time from UAE

Flights from Dubai to Oslo, connecting on to Tromsø, take around 7 to 8 hours in total. Norway is 3 hours behind UAE time (2 hours during daylight saving).

💱 Currency

Norway uses the Norwegian Krone (NOK), not the Euro. Cards are widely accepted almost everywhere, including on Arctic cruises, but small amounts of cash are handy for remote villages.

🍽 Halal food

Halal options are available, particularly in Oslo, Bergen and Tromsø, alongside plenty of fresh seafood and vegetarian choices.

🧳 We recommend applying for your Schengen visa several weeks before departure. Passport valid 6+ months beyond your travel dates is advised, along with proof of accommodation and return flights.

Visa rules differ by nationality and can change. Entry is at the sole discretion of Norwegian immigration. We confirm current requirements for your passport before you travel.
