Lima & Cusco Short Break
- Historic Lima: Plaza Mayor & San Francisco Monastery
- Cusco city tour & Sacsayhuaman fortress
- Optional Machu Picchu day-trip add-on
A Peru tour package from the UAE typically bundles domestic flights within Peru (mainly Lima ↔ Cusco), 4★ or 5★ hotels, airport transfers, the Ollantaytambo–Aguas Calientes train tickets and guided sightseeing — from AED 6,999 per person for a short Lima & Cusco break, up to AED 16,999 for a Grand Peru tour extending to Lake Titicaca. International flights from the UAE are booked separately, since there are no direct flights and journeys typically take 22 to 24 hours with one stopover. Highlights include colonial Lima, the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the Sacred Valley's Pisac market and Ollantaytambo, and of course Machu Picchu itself. UAE nationals can enter Peru visa-free for up to 90 days; other nationalities living in the UAE typically need to apply for a tourist visa in advance.
One extraordinary country, four very different journeys — from a short Lima & Cusco break, to the classic Peru Classic route, a romantic Sacred Valley escape, or a Grand Peru tour that adds Lake Titicaca. Every package includes domestic flights, hotels, transfers and guided touring, or we'll build a custom itinerary.

Here's how your 5-night Peru trip flows. Domestic flights, hand-picked 4★/5★ hotels, the Ollantaytambo–Aguas Calientes train tickets, transfers and guided sightseeing are included throughout.
Land at Jorge Chávez International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Since there are no direct flights from the UAE, most journeys arrive after a long-haul routing with one stopover — take the rest of the day at leisure to explore Miraflores and Larcomar, or try Peruvian cuisine at a local restaurant. Overnight in Lima.
A guided tour of historic Lima takes in Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace and Lima Cathedral, followed by the San Francisco Monastery and its underground catacombs. In the afternoon, explore the bohemian Barranco district or the coastal cliffs along the Pacific. Overnight in Lima.
A short domestic flight (around 1.5 hours) takes you to Cusco, the former Inca capital sitting at 3,400 metres. A half-day city tour covers the Koricancha Temple, Cusco Cathedral and the Sacsayhuaman fortress overlooking the city. Take it easy this evening to acclimatise to the altitude. Overnight in Cusco.
A full-day excursion through the Sacred Valley stops at the colourful Pisac Market and its hillside ruins, followed by lunch and a visit to Ollantaytambo's Inca fortress. In the afternoon, board the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
An early morning bus takes you up to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the citadel, with time to admire the terraces and stonework against the Andean backdrop. Those who booked an optional Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain hike continue on their own permit slot. In the afternoon, return by train to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.
Enjoy a free morning in Cusco for last-minute shopping in the San Pedro Market or simply relaxing at a café in Plaza de Armas. Fly back to Lima to connect with your international flight home, carrying memories of Inca stonework, Andean peaks and colonial courtyards.
The Andes have a distinct dry and wet season, and the right window matters for Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley in particular — May to September is the classic choice for sightseeing and trekking.
| Season | Months | Weather | Why go |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak Dry Season | Jun – Aug | Cool days 18–20°C, cold nights, no rain | Best for Machu Picchu, trekking & clear mountain views |
| Shoulder Dry Season | May & Sep | Mild 17–20°C, minimal rain | Fewer crowds, still excellent weather |
| Shoulder Wet Season | Oct – Nov, Mar – Apr | Mild with scattered showers | Lower rates, greener Sacred Valley landscapes |
| Wet Season | Dec – Feb | Warm with frequent rain | Inca Trail closed each February for maintenance |
The driest, clearest months make this the prime season for Machu Picchu photography and the full Sacred Valley circuit — also the busiest, so book well ahead.
Nearly as dry as peak season but with noticeably fewer visitors at Machu Picchu and better hotel availability in Cusco.
Rain is more frequent and the classic Inca Trail closes each February for maintenance, though Machu Picchu itself stays open via train and bus.
