Here's how your 6-night Tanzania trip flows. Flights, safari lodges, the beach resort and every game drive run on a private basis — your own 4x4 and driver-guide, never a shared vehicle.
Land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our representative meets you and transfers you privately to your lodge in Arusha, the safari gateway town (approx. 1 hour). Tanzania is 1 hour ahead of UAE time. Check in and rest ahead of an early safari start tomorrow. Overnight in Arusha.
Drive into the Rift Valley for your first game drive:
Overnight at a lodge near the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a collapsed volcanic caldera and UNESCO World Heritage Site often called "Africa's Eden." Its enclosed floor packs one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on the continent — lions, elephants, hippos, flamingos and one of the last populations of black rhino. A full day of game viewing before continuing on. Overnight near Ngorongoro or en route to the Serengeti.
Drive into the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park, home to the Great Migration — the largest overland movement of wildlife on Earth. Game drives here focus on the resident Big Five, with the migration's exact location depending on the season. Overnight in the Serengeti.
A final sunrise game drive, then a short flight from the Serengeti (or via Arusha) to Zanzibar, swapping the savannah for white sand and turquoise water. Transfer to your beach resort and spend the rest of the day unwinding. Overnight in Zanzibar.
Add a guided tour of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage old town of narrow alleys, carved doors and bustling markets, followed by a spice plantation tour showing how Zanzibar earned its name as the "Spice Island." Or spend the day entirely on the beach. Overnight in Zanzibar.
Enjoy a final beachside breakfast before your private transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your flight home, with a camera full of lions and a suitcase of Zanzibari spices.
Tanzania's safari circuit is a year-round destination, but the Great Migration's location shifts throughout the year, and Zanzibar has its own separate rainy seasons — so timing depends on what you most want to see.
| Season | Months | Weather | Why go |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dry season | Jun – Oct | Warm & dry, cool mornings | Best overall — wildlife concentrates near water, Mara River crossings |
| Calving season | Jan – Mar | Warm & mostly dry | Wildebeest calving in the southern Serengeti, dramatic predator action |
| Long rains | Mar – May | Heavy rain, lush landscapes | Low season — lower rates, but some camps close |
| Zanzibar dry spells | Jun – Oct, Dec – Feb | Sunny, low humidity | Best windows for the beach extension |
The dry season is prime safari time — wildlife clusters around rivers and waterholes, and this window often includes the dramatic Mara River crossings in the northern Serengeti.
The migration's calving season in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu plains, with thousands of wildebeest calves born within weeks — a favourite for photographers.
The long rains bring the lowest rates and lush green scenery, though some camps close and certain roads can be difficult after heavy downpours.
