Day by day

Tokyo & Osaka — 7-Day Itinerary

Here's how your 6-night Japan trip flows: three nights in Tokyo, three in Osaka, with the Shinkansen between them. You fly into Tokyo and out of Osaka, so you never double back. Tours run on a shared-coach basis with an English-speaking guide.

DAY1

Arrival in Tokyo Included

Land at Narita International Airport and take your seat-in-coach transfer into the city (these run at fixed times to designated stops — we'll send you the schedule). Check in, then the evening is yours: wander the nearest side streets, find a ramen counter, and let the jet lag lose. Overnight in Tokyo.

DAY2

Full-Day Tokyo City Tour · 09:00–18:30 Included

A full guided day across the capital, old and new:

  • Imperial Palace & Nijubashi Bridge — the Emperor's residence, and the classic photograph.
  • Tsukiji Outer Market — the best street food breakfast of your life, if you're brave with it.
  • Senso-ji, Asakusa — Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple, and the souvenir gauntlet of Nakamise Street.
  • Traditional tea ceremony — slower and more precise than you expect, and all the better for it.
  • Tokyo Tower — the city laid out below you, all the way to the horizon.

Tour ends at Shinjuku Station (West Exit); you return to the hotel independently. Overnight in Tokyo.

DAY3

Mt Fuji & Hakone Included

The big one. A full-day excursion out to Japan's most famous mountain:

  • Mt Fuji 5th Station — halfway up the volcano. On a clear day it is genuinely breathtaking; Fuji is shy, though, and cloud is common, so treat a clear view as a gift rather than a guarantee.
  • Japanese-style lunch, included on this tour.
  • Lake Ashi cruise — glassy water ringed by forested mountains.
  • Mt Komagatake Ropeway — aerial views over Hakone and, weather permitting, Fuji itself.

Ends at Shinjuku Station West Exit. Overnight in Tokyo.

DAY4

Tokyo to Osaka by Shinkansen Included

Check out, make your way to Tokyo Station and board the Shinkansen with your sector ticket — 300 km/h, and so smooth you could balance a coffee on the tray table. Arrive at Shin-Osaka and check in.

The evening is yours. Head straight for Dotonbori: neon reflected in the canal, and takoyaki and okonomiyaki eaten standing up. Overnight in Osaka.

DAY5

Kyoto & Nara Excursion Included

Bullet train up to Kyoto, then a full guided day through Japan's old heart:

  • Nijo-jo Castle (UNESCO) — shogun's residence, with famous "nightingale floors" that squeak to warn of intruders.
  • Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion — gold leaf mirrored in a still pond; Japan's most photographed building.
  • Kyoto Imperial Palace — the former Imperial residence and its gardens.
  • Todai-ji, Nara — a colossal bronze Buddha in one of the world's great wooden halls.
  • Nara Park — the famously polite free-roaming deer, who bow for crackers.
  • Kasuga Taisha — thousands of stone lanterns under the trees.

Shinkansen back to Shin-Osaka. Overnight in Osaka.

DAY6

Osaka at Leisure

Your last full day, entirely your own:

  • Osaka Castle — moats, stone walls and a gold-trimmed keep.
  • Dotonbori & Shinsaibashi — neon, arcades and Japan's best shopping street.
  • Or add Universal Studios Japan — just ask and we'll pre-book your tickets.

Overnight in Osaka.

DAY7

Departure from Osaka Included

Breakfast, check out, and a seat-in-coach transfer to Kansai International Airport for your flight home — with a suitcase of KitKats in flavours you cannot explain to anyone back home.

Best Time to Visit Japan

Japan has two golden windows — cherry blossom in spring and the autumn foliage in November — and they're golden for a reason. Both are stunning, both are busy, and both need booking months ahead. Autumn quietly beats spring on weather, price and the odds of actually seeing Mt Fuji.

SeasonMonthsWeatherWhy go
SpringMar – MayMild 10–22°CCherry blossom — late March to early April. Magical, packed, priciest; book 4–6 months out
SummerJun – AugHot & humid 26–34°CRainy season through mid-July, then fireworks & festivals. Hokkaido stays cool
AutumnSep – NovCrisp 12–24°C, clear skiesBest overall — foliage peaks in November, and the clearest Mt Fuji views of the year
WinterDec – FebCold 2–12°C, snow in the northHokkaido powder skiing, city illuminations, the fewest crowds and lowest fares

Oct–Nov Best

The connoisseur's choice. Crisp air, blazing autumn colour in Kyoto, and the clearest Mt Fuji views of the year — the mountain hides behind cloud far more often in summer. Cheaper and calmer than sakura season, too.

Late Mar–Apr Cherry blossom

Sakura is everything you've been promised — and everyone else has heard that too. Flights and hotels sell out months in advance and prices climb hard. If you want it, come to us 4–6 months ahead. Blossom timing shifts each year, so we build in a buffer.

Dec–Feb Snow & value

The quietest and best-value window. Hokkaido gets some of the finest powder snow on earth, the cities glitter with winter illuminations, and you'll queue for nothing.

Entry made easy

Japan Visa for UAE Residents

Let's clear up the most common myth first: UAE passport holders do not need a visa for Japan. Since 1 July 2025 the visa-free allowance for Emirati passports rose from 30 days to 90 days per visit. For every other nationality living in the UAE, a Japan visa is required — and your Emirates ID doesn't change that. We handle the whole application.

✅ UAE passport holders

Visa-free, up to 90 days per visit (a registered biometric passport is required). No application, no fee.

Indian, Pakistani, Filipino & most others

A Japan visa is mandatory before travel. Your UAE residence visa grants no exemption — but it does strengthen your application, showing stable ties and finances.

e-Visa or sticker visa

Two routes: the online Japan e-Visa for eligible nationalities, or the traditional sticker visa via VFS Global. Passport valid 6+ months and UAE residence visa valid 3+ months.

⚠️ Abu Dhabi & Al Ain residents

You cannot apply at the Dubai Consulate — you must apply at the Embassy of Japan in Abu Dhabi. Our Abu Dhabi office handles this for you.

✈️ Flights from Dubai to Tokyo take around 9–10 hours direct, and Japan is 5 hours ahead of UAE time. 📱 Complete Visit Japan Web before you fly — it gives you QR codes for immigration and customs and saves you a long queue at Narita. 🗻 One honest note: Mt Fuji is frequently hidden by cloud. The 5th Station visit runs regardless, but a clear view is luck, not a promise.

Visa rules differ by nationality and can change. Entry is at the sole discretion of Japanese immigration. Applications go through the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai, the Embassy in Abu Dhabi, VFS Global or the official e-Visa portal — we confirm current requirements & fees for your passport before you travel.

Japan Packages — FAQs

Our Japan packages include round-trip economy airfare (flying into Tokyo and home from Osaka, so you never backtrack), 6 nights at 4★ hotels across Tokyo and Osaka, airport transfers, Shinkansen bullet-train sector tickets, an English-speaking guide, a full-day Tokyo city tour with tea ceremony, the Mt Fuji and Hakone excursion with a Japanese-style lunch, the Kyoto and Nara excursion, and premier travel insurance.

Our Tokyo & Osaka Experience starts from AED 9,949 per person for 6 nights, including flights, hotels, Shinkansen tickets and all guided tours — down from AED 10,999. Honeymoon, family and grand-tour packages range from around AED 11,900 to AED 16,900 per person.

This is the most common misconception we hear. UAE passport holders do NOT need a visa — and since 1 July 2025 the visa-free allowance was raised from 30 days to 90 days per visit, with a registered biometric passport. However, most UAE residents hold Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian or other passports that are not visa-exempt, and for them a Japan visa is mandatory before travel. Your Emirates ID grants no exemption, though a valid UAE residence visa does strengthen the application. We arrange either the online e-Visa or the VFS sticker visa for you.

At the Embassy of Japan in Abu Dhabi, not the Consulate-General in Dubai. The Dubai consulate only accepts applicants residing in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Residents of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain must go through the Abu Dhabi embassy — our Abu Dhabi office handles this for you.

Late March to early April brings the cherry blossom, which is extraordinary but crowded and expensive — book 4 to 6 months ahead. October and November are arguably better: blazing autumn colour, crisp clear skies, lower prices, and by far the best odds of a clear Mt Fuji. December to February is quietest and cheapest, with world-class powder skiing in Hokkaido.

6 nights comfortably covers Tokyo, Mt Fuji and Hakone, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka — that's five destinations linked by bullet train. Allow 8 to 10 days to add Hiroshima and Miyajima, Okinawa's beaches or Hokkaido's snow.

Direct flights from Dubai to Tokyo take around 9 to 10 hours. Japan is 5 hours ahead of UAE time. Our package flies you into Tokyo Narita and home from Osaka Kansai, so you don't waste a day travelling back to where you started.

Honestly, it depends on the weather. Fuji is famously shy and spends a lot of the year behind cloud. The 5th Station excursion, Lake Ashi cruise and Komagatake Ropeway all run regardless and are wonderful in their own right — but a clear view of the peak is luck rather than a promise. Autumn and winter give you the best odds.

Yes. You can split your booking into easy, interest-free instalments with Tabby and Tamara, plus we accept major cards. Given Japan's higher price point, this is a popular option — ask your consultant about current plans.

Every package is a starting point. Add Tokyo Disneyland or Universal Studios, upgrade to a Kyoto ryokan, extend to Hiroshima, Okinawa or Hokkaido, or swap the shared coach tours for a private guide and car. Just tell us what you have in mind.

Let's Plan Your Japan Adventure

Tell us your dates and group and we'll send a tailored Japan quote — flights, hotels, bullet trains, guided tours and full visa help, all in one price. Free, fast, no obligation.

Please note: Prices are indicative, per person on twin-sharing, and subject to availability. They may change due to airline fares, hotel availability, seasonal demand, exchange rates and supplier updates. Entry requirements are at the sole discretion of the respective immigration authority. Inclusions and exclusions vary by package and travel date. Please confirm the final itinerary, pricing and terms with our travel consultant before booking.

Tours and transfers operate on a shared seat-in-coach basis; buses run at fixed times from designated pick-up points, which we confirm before each excursion. Views of Mt Fuji are weather-dependent. Optional add-ons (Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Studios Japan, TeamLab Planets, private guide upgrades) and Hiroshima, Okinawa or Hokkaido extensions are available at a supplement. Cherry blossom season should be booked 4–6 months in advance.
