Best Time to Visit South Korea

South Korea is at its most beautiful in spring and autumn — and those two windows are worth planning around. Spring brings the cherry blossom in early April; autumn sets the mountains and palaces ablaze with colour in late October and November. Summer is hot and rainy, winter cold and crisp with snow in the hills.

SeasonMonthsWeatherWhy go
SpringApr – JunMild 12–24°C, blossomBest overall — cherry blossom in early April, perfect sightseeing weather
SummerJul – AugHot & humid, monsoon rainMatches UAE school holidays; expect showers and book beaches & islands
AutumnSep – NovCrisp 10–24°C, clear skiesBest overall — golden foliage peaks late Oct–Nov across palaces and hills
WinterDec – FebCold -5 to 8°C, snow inlandLowest prices, festive lights and skiing near Seoul

Early Apr Cherry blossom

The most magical week of the year: palaces, riversides and Gyeongju framed in pink blossom. It's popular and prices climb, so book 3–4 months ahead for these dates.

Jul–Aug Family peak

It matches UAE school holidays, but it's the hot, humid monsoon season. Perfectly doable — we simply weight the plan towards indoor attractions like Lotte World and the coast at Busan.

Oct–Nov Best value

Arguably the finest window of all: cool, clear and dry, with autumn colour blazing across the country and noticeably calmer crowds than blossom season.

Entry made easy

South Korea Visa & K-ETA for UAE Residents

Korea's entry rules depend entirely on your passport nationality, not your UAE residence — and they changed for 2026. Emirati passport holders travel visa-free, while most expat residents need a proper tourist visa arranged in advance. Whichever applies to you, we handle the whole process, including the new digital arrival card everyone now needs.

✅ UAE passport holders

Visa-free for up to 30 days. The K-ETA travel authorisation is currently waived for many nationalities through 31 December 2026, and Gulf states including the UAE appear on the exemption list — we confirm your exact status before you fly.

🚩 e-Arrival Card — everyone

Since 1 January 2026 every traveller without a valid K-ETA must complete Korea's digital e-Arrival Card within 3 days of arrival — this replaced the old paper form and applies to children and seniors too.

⚠️ Indian, Pakistani, Filipino & most residents

These passports are not K-ETA-eligible and need a C-3-9 tourist visa before travel, applied through the Korean Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Typical processing is 7–10 working days, so start early.

Use the official portals only

Apply for K-ETA only at k-eta.go.kr (about AED 28) — many look-alike sites charge far more. Our Abu Dhabi office prepares and submits embassy visa applications for you.

✈️ Flights from the UAE to Seoul take around 9 hours, and Korea is 5 hours ahead of UAE time. 🏠 Abu Dhabi & Al Ain residents apply at the Embassy of Korea in Abu Dhabi — handy, since we have an office there. Passport valid 6+ months with blank pages.

Visa and K-ETA rules differ by nationality and can change; the K-ETA waiver is a temporary measure. Entry is at the sole discretion of Korean immigration. Apply only via the official portals (k-eta.go.kr, the e-Arrival Card site) or through us — we confirm current requirements & fees for your passport before you travel.

South Korea Packages — FAQs

Our South Korea packages include 6 nights at 4★ hotels with daily buffet breakfast, KTX bullet-train tickets between Seoul and Busan, all seat-in-coach airport and sightseeing transfers, guided sightseeing with entrance fees across Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju, and travel insurance. Return international flights from the UAE are added to your quote, and lunches, dinners and visa fees are extra.

Our Korea Signature package — Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju over 6 nights — starts from AED 12,999 per person, down from AED 15,999, covering hotels, the KTX bullet train, transfers, guided sightseeing and insurance. Honeymoon, family and grand-tour versions range from around AED 13,500 to AED 17,900 per person, and we'll add your flights from Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

It depends on your passport, not your UAE residence. Emirati passport holders enter visa-free for up to 30 days. Most expat residents — including Indian, Pakistani, Filipino and Bangladeshi passport holders — are not eligible for the K-ETA and need a C-3-9 tourist visa obtained before travel through the Korean Embassy in Abu Dhabi, which typically takes 7 to 10 working days. We confirm your exact route and handle the application for you.

The K-ETA is Korea's electronic travel authorisation for visa-free nationalities — and it's currently waived for many countries, including Gulf states, through 31 December 2026. Separately, since 1 January 2026 every traveller without a valid K-ETA must complete a digital e-Arrival Card within 3 days of arrival; this replaced the old paper form and applies to children and seniors too. Apply for a K-ETA only at the official k-eta.go.kr — any site charging $50 to $100 for it is a scam.

Spring and autumn are the golden windows. Early April brings the cherry blossom, while late October and November set the palaces and mountains ablaze with autumn colour — both are ideal for sightseeing. Summer (July to August) matches UAE school holidays but is hot, humid and rainy, and winter is cold with snow and skiing near Seoul.

Our Signature route covers Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju comfortably in 6 nights. Allow 9 to 10 days to add the volcanic island of Jeju, the DMZ on the North Korean border, or Nami Island for a fuller grand tour.

Flights from Dubai to Seoul take around 9 hours, and Korea is 5 hours ahead of UAE time. Emirates, Etihad and Korean Air all serve the route.

Yes to both. Halal restaurants are available in Seoul and Busan, particularly around Itaewon in Seoul, and we can arrange halal meal options throughout. We can also add famous K-drama filming locations and the K-pop entertainment districts of Gangnam to your itinerary on request.

Every package is a starting point. You can add Jeju Island, a DMZ tour, Everland or Nami Island, upgrade to 5★ hotels and a private guide, or combine Korea with Japan on one North-East Asia trip — just tell us what you have in mind.

The currency is the Korean Won (KRW), and cards are very widely accepted, though it's worth carrying some cash for markets and street food. South Korea is one of the safest countries in the world for travellers, with very low crime rates and excellent, easy-to-use public transport.

Let's Plan Your Korea Adventure

Tell us your dates and group and we'll send a tailored Korea quote — hotels, the KTX bullet train, guided tours and full visa & K-ETA help, with flights from the UAE added in. Free, fast, no obligation.

Please note: Prices are indicative, per person on twin-sharing, and subject to availability. They may change due to airline fares, hotel availability, seasonal demand, exchange rates and supplier updates. Entry requirements are at the sole discretion of the respective immigration authority. Inclusions and exclusions vary by package and travel date. Please confirm the final itinerary, pricing and terms with our travel consultant before booking.

Tours and transfers operate on a shared seat-in-coach basis, and return international flights from the UAE are quoted separately and added to your package. Optional add-ons (Jeju Island, the DMZ, Everland and K-drama or K-pop tours) are available at a supplement and can be added on request.
